On Saturday 24th April, the North East Planning, Housing and Regeneration professions came together to raise money for the Samaritans. The event, organised by NLP, saw eight ‘5-a side’ teams compete for the honour of winning the inaugural Kevin Davy Memorial event at Complete Football in Gosforth, Newcastle.
The weather was hot, and so was some of the football. The competition was tough but the event was played in excellent spirits with NLP edging victory 3-2 on penalties in a closely fought final against a team organised by Kevin’s family.
There was a serious point to the day too. From the entry fee, raffle and subbuteo auction, over £700 was raised for the Samaritans. Donations are still being accepted and if anyone wants to help nudge the total towards the magic £1000 please contact
Shelley Surtees in NLP’s Newcastle Office.
