As part of the larger planning strategy for Lambeth College, which has seen the provision of a new Sixth Form Centre at Clapham and an application for a Design and Technology Centre in Brixton, NLP has secured planning permission for the retention of nine buildings on the Lambeth College Clapham site for a further three and a half years.
The buildings were originally approved to provide decant space during the construction of the Sixth Form Centre, which NLP obtained consent for in 2008 and has now opened. With the proposed redevelopment of the Brixton Centre these buildings need to be retained to accommodate students and staff during this process.
NLP Senior Associate Director David Gurtler commented:- “This type of ongoing asset management for Lambeth College's three sites is essential for the future of colleges and other higher education establishments with funding and other cuts that they are facing.”
