Training and Career Development

At Senior Planner and above, you will be expected to supervise Planners and Graduates and mentor them in achieving their APC.  We run seminars to help Licentiates and mentors with the RTPI’s APC process, and we also support RICS (Planning and Development) APC.

Our workgroup structures and regular team meetings ensure all staff can contribute to and receive feedback on the direction of the Company.

Feedback from our latest employee opinion survey, undertaken in summer 2008, showed that 97% of respondents would recommend NLP as a good place to work. They feel that the Company is credible and respected within the property sector and by clients and, in turn, employees feel respected for their own contribution. People overwhelmingly like both the work at NLP and the people with whom they work.
Because of our company structure, we are not restricted to a set number of Directors, Senior Associate Directors or Associate Directors.  This enables us to promote staff on their own merits, upon the achievement of the relevant competences.

Social Events

NLP’s calendar of social events is busy and varied, with a programme of spring, summer, autumn, and Christmas socials and a number of “unofficial” events in between.  These events have involved dragon boat racing, waterskiing and horse racing along with quiz evenings and wine tasting.  We also arrange weekend study tours and team building events for the whole company, the most recent to Rotterdam in spring 2008.
